First steps towards the aisle (ideally at least nine months before the wedding)
- Find a fiancée. Got one? OK we’re started…
- Decide on a wedding date
- Think about your wedding style, theme and colours
- Think about who’s on the guest list
- Figure out roughly how much you’re going to spend on your wedding
- Start thinking about your wedding dress, shoes and accessories
- Start using our Wedding Directory to get some ideas
- Decide who’s the Bridesmaid(s) and who’s the Best Man. Don't forget to tell them…
Start planning a week’s wedding planning holiday in Cyprus
- You’d be best to spend a week in Paphos actually seeing and trying everything out before making bookings (and you can get a free tan at the same time!)
- Figure out when you and H2B can do that and book it. Aim for at least six months before your wedding
- Spend hours going through our Wedding Directory to make up a shortlist of what and who you want to see
Enjoy a week in Paphos with H2B trying everything out and deciding
- Where you’ll get married
- Where you’ll have your wedding reception
- Check out a florist
- Check out beauty preparations, makeup and hair stylists
- Decide on a photographer
- Decide on a wedding cake
- Sort out a big limo (or maybe a horse and carriage) to get you to your wedding
- Sort out what entertainment you’d like at your wedding
- Decide where to stay for your wedding
- And of course work on your tan and maybe a few cocktails too!
Back home again, boo hoo…
- Confirm your bookings with all the suppliers you’ve chosen
- Book your flights to Paphos and your hotel in Paphos. Remember you need to be in Paphos at least three clear working days before your wedding date.
- Invite all your guests to the wedding
- Set up a gift list with your favourite retailer
- Get your dress and your bridesmaid’s dresses sorted
- Help H2B decide what he’s going to wear
- Choose your wedding rings
- Spend hours working on a music playlist. (Many restaurants will let you plug your iPod into their sound system)
- Think about any readings you want at your wedding ceremony, any music you want played, any special vows you want made
Getting closer to the day…
- Reconfirm all the details of your wedding with all the suppliers
- See a solicitor to get an Affidavit confirming you’re both free to marry. (No Affidavit, no wedding in Paphos)
- While we’re talking paperwork, make sure you’ve got everything you’ll need
- Sort out a wedding guest book, maybe favours for the guests, gifts for some special guests, …
- Think about your Hen and Stag nights out. Serious? Tasteful? Or a night on the lash in Bar Street?
About a fortnight before you’re flying to Paphos
- Reconfirm all the details of your wedding with all the suppliers
- Double check you’ve got all your paperwork. And it’s got to be originals – copies won’t do
- Collect your dress, shoes, accessories
- Make sure H2B collects his suit, tuxedo, kilt, whatever…
- Confirm with all your guests they know what they’re doing and where they’re going
- Confirm final numbers to the reception venue
Off to the airport, sunshine here we come!
- Packed your dress, shoes, accessories?
- Got all your paperwork?
- Sun tan lotion? Insect repellent? Hangover cure?
Hoorah, we’re in Paphos!
- Go straight to the Town Hall with your paperwork. They’ve got to have it three days before your wedding
- Phone all the suppliers to reconfirm again. Yes, dull, but you don’t want any nasty surprises do you!
- See your beautician or hairdresser for any trial runs
- Enjoy your Hen and Stag nights!
Today’s THE DAY!
- Give yourself plenty of time to have your breakfast, get your hair done and get ready
- Relax and enjoy!
