Plan a wedding inspection trip to Paphos

One of the wonderful things about getting married in Paphos Cyprus is you have the chance to have a Planning Visit to sort out all your final wedding choices.  Here’s what we’d recommend:

Pick a week about six months before you’re planning to get married in Paphos when you and H2B can visit Paphos.  You need a week in Paphos to actually see and try everything before making bookings (and you can get a free tan at the same time!)

Pick a preferred wedding date and two fallback dates – watch out for Public Holidays in Cyprus – there’s loads of them.

Spend hours going through our Wedding Directory to make up a shortlist of what and who you want to see.

When you get to Paphos get yourself a hire car and a street map of Paphos and go have fun.  Don’t get your hire car from the airport – that’s expensive.   Pick one up in Paphos – bet you pay less than €25 a day (and less off season).  A hire car will work out much cheaper than getting taxis everywhere.

Start out choosing a wedding ceremony and wedding reception venue – or one place where you can do both.  Maybe plan to visit one evening to actually eat there and see if you like it.  Make sure your chosen venue is available on the date you want.

Then check out florists – the best ones get booked up aeons in advance.  Visit them at their shops and look at samples of their work.

Then check out beauty preparations, makeup and hair stylists, photographers and a wedding cake.  Remember you need to get on with these people on a personal level so make sure you like them, and they’re going to be the actual people on the day.

Move on to sorting out a big limo (or maybe a horse and carriage) to get you to your wedding and the entertainment you’d like at your wedding.

Finally decide where to stay for your wedding.  Can it accommodate you and your guests?  Are there other hotels nearby a different price points to cater for different people’s finances?

Before you leave Paphos, make provisional bookings with ceremony and reception venues, florist, photographer and cake maker.  You’ll almost certainly have to pay some sort of deposit to reserve your preferred date

It’s going to be a busy, fun and exciting week – but of course leave a few hours to work on your tan and maybe enjoy a few cocktails too!

Keep in mind businesses in Paphos tend to open early by UK standards at 8am, but often close at 1.30pm for the day.  And of course Wednesday and Saturday afternoon’s everything is closed for half day closing.  And being a religious island, everything’s closed on Sundays all day.

Have fun!
